A27 Auglish Road, Northern Ireland

imageIn collaboration with their partner company in Ireland, Highway Barrier Solutions, Extrudakerb constructed the first extruded asphalt kerb in Northern Ireland for highway operator Road Service on the A27 Auglish Road.

Road Service were keen to understand the advantages of the machine laid insitu kerb and provided the location for this first installation.

image625 linear metres of kerb profile type 86 was extruded over 2 days to allow visitors to better opportunity to experience the process.

A special asphalt kerb mix was supplied by local producers Gibson Brothers to Extrudakerb's design.

 

Visitors from major contractors, designers and Road Service attended site.

imageThe successful installation has resulted in the system being included in the Flagging, Kerbing and Paving Design Guidance document. Down load document.

It is hoped that widespread use of the product will follow from this first installation as road operators, designers and contractors become more accustomed to the benefits of the product.
